Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) – Courses and intake details

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is a public mid-level health training college that is certified by the Ministry of Education to offer college education facilities under the Ministry of Health. KMTC has branches across the country and its headquarters is Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Nairobi. The main campus is located opposite Kenya National Hospital along Mbagathi Road. KMTC offers health courses from short courses, certificate, diploma, and higher diploma levels.


For you to qualify for the KMTC courses, you have to meet their requirements below;

1. Short courses take 2 weeks to 3 months. Individuals and groups interested in pursuing these are encouraged to make a written request to facilitate arrangements for the training.
2. Certificate courses take 2 years with an exception of nursing course that takes 2 and half years. You are required to have a minimum aggregate of C- with relevant subject combination.
3. Diploma courses take 3 years with an exception of Community Health Nursing that takes 3 and half years. You are required to have a minimum of grade C in KCSE relevant subject combination.
4. Upgrading take 2 years except Community Health Nursing that takes 1 and half years. You must be a certificate holder in a relevant area having worked for at least 2 years.
5. Higher diploma takes 1 year and you must be a holder of basic diploma in a relevant area with at least 2 years working experience.
