Equitel money transfer charges

Airtime and Data Bundles :

Buying airtime – No charges. A Maximum limit is set to Ksh. 8000.

Buying Data bundle – No charges. ( 5 MB for 6 ,20 MB for25, 50 MB for 60,100 MB for 110,500 MB for 500 ,1.5 GB for 1000 ,3 GB for 1999 ,8 GB for 3999)

 

Money Transfer:

From Equitel to Equitel – own accounts:No Charges with no transaction limit.

 

From Equitel to Equitel:No Charges with a transaction limit of Ksh. 300,000 and a daily limit of 1,000,000.

 

Equitel Mobile Money Transfer to Mpesa,Airtel Money,Orange Money or Yu cash: Charges range from minimum of ksh. 33 (due to termination charges and excise duty) to a maximum of Ksh. 60.5 ,with a transaction limit of Ksh.35,000 and a daily limit of Ksh.140,000.

 

Transfer to another Bank: Charges range from minimum of approximately ksh. 33 (due to termination charges and excise duty) to a maximum of Ksh. 60.5 , with a transaction limit of Ksh.100,000 and a daily limit of Ksh.500,000.

 

Payments:

 

Paying for goods and services using an Equitel provided paybill: No charges with a transaction limit of 100,000 and a daily limit of Ksh. 500,000.

 

Withdrawing :

 

Withdrawing from Equity Agents has a daily and transaction limit of Ksh.100,000 0 while withdrawing from other channels e.g. an ATM is charged at 33 with a transaction limit of 10,000 and a daily limit of 20,000.

  1. It seems equitel is operating in a lot of secrecy.It’s vertually imposible to even get there withdrawal rates from agents hence one can’t make an informed decision whether it’s truly a better option to opt for.
